Experts say the body changes due to the temperature and can cause an upset in your health.<\/li>\n<li>The actual start of spring varies from March 19<sup>th<\/sup> to the 21<sup>st<\/sup>, but it is commonly celebrated on the 21<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Do you like to garden?\u00a0 Now is the perfect time to get your gardens planted so you\u2019ll have home grown veggies for the entire summer.\u00a0 For me, it\u2019s also a great time to do some spring cleaning and get the house in order before the summer closes all the windows and the air conditioning becomes our indoor relief.<\/p>\n<p>But these activities can also cause a strain on muscles, so don\u2019t forget to take care of yourself.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>A Common Cause For Pains From Hip To Knee<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/natural-treatment-for-hip-pain\/natural-treatment-for-hip-pain\/#main\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1551\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/natural-treatment-for-hip-pain.jpg\" alt=\"hip pain\" width=\"279\" height=\"279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/natural-treatment-for-hip-pain.jpg 279w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/natural-treatment-for-hip-pain-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/natural-treatment-for-hip-pain-50x50.jpg 50w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/natural-treatment-for-hip-pain-200x200.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 279px) 100vw, 279px\" \/><\/a>There are times when I am led to sharing a treatment because I had a run of clients all suffering from the same source muscle.\u00a0 That is what happened for this newsletter.\u00a0 In March I had at least six clients come to my office, all having different symptoms, but all stemming from the same source.<\/p>\n<p>My clients complained of hip pain, thigh pain, knee pain, and pain down the outside of the lower leg.<\/p>\n<p>In this case it was the Tensor Fascia Lata and two of the three Gluteal muscles: Medius, Minimus. The Gluteus Medius is directly over the Gluteus Minimus, so treating one will actually treat both.\u00a0 And the Tensor Fascia Lata is right next to both these muscles.<\/p>\n<p>All these muscles insert into the same area of the hip, and for different reasons, they all cause hip pain.\u00a0 Also, each muscle refers pain to a different location, so you think you have a problem in these referred pain locations, but they are all coming from your hip.<\/p>\n<p>This is one of the many times when working on one area will solve many different problems.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/relief-from-hip-and-knee-pain\/trigger-point-charts-for-hip-and-knee-pain\/#main\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4218\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4218\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Trigger-Point-Charts-For-Hip-And-Knee-Pain-188x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Trigger-Point-Charts-For-Hip-And-Knee-Pain-188x300.jpg 188w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Trigger-Point-Charts-For-Hip-And-Knee-Pain-641x1024.jpg 641w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Trigger-Point-Charts-For-Hip-And-Knee-Pain-768x1226.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Trigger-Point-Charts-For-Hip-And-Knee-Pain-962x1536.jpg 962w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Trigger-Point-Charts-For-Hip-And-Knee-Pain.jpg 997w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 188px) 100vw, 188px\" \/><\/a>Take a look at these Trigger Point charts:<\/p>\n<p>To read the charts, look at the shaded area (which shows where pain is felt) and look for the muscle name in the same color.\u00a0 Then follow the arrow to the same-colored round circles with \u201cx\u201d. This is the trigger point (spasm) that is the source of that pain pattern.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll notice that the spasm (trigger point) for the purple pain pattern is in the Gluteus Minimus at the outside of the hip, but the pain pattern goes to the outside of the thigh, the knee, and all the way down to the ankle.<\/p>\n<p>The spasms for the Tensor Fascia Lata is in the same place on the hip, but the pain pattern is the hip, the thigh, and the outside of the knee.<\/p>\n<p>In each of these cases the pain is being felt along the insertion points for the muscles.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Hip And Knee Pain Relief<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To relieve the muscle spasms that are causing the problem, use my \u201cPerfect Ball\u201d (You can use a baseball or tennis ball, but my Perfect Ball is just the right size and hardness for the job). Then, either lie on the floor or stand up and lean into a wall as shown in the two photos below.\u00a0 Lean into the ball, easing your pressure onto the ball gradually.\u00a0 As the muscle releases it will hurt less and less.<strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/relief-from-hip-and-knee-pain\/hip-pain-treatment-1-2\/#main\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4219\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4219\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Hip-Pain-Treatment-1-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"797\" height=\"361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Hip-Pain-Treatment-1-2.jpg 797w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Hip-Pain-Treatment-1-2-300x136.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Hip-Pain-Treatment-1-2-768x348.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 797px) 100vw, 797px\" \/><\/a>Then you can rotate your body, so the ball is pressing into the front of your hip or rotating so the ball is rolling toward the back of your body.\u00a0 You will likely find multiple painful tender spots.\u00a0 Each spot is a spasm that is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/relief-from-hip-and-knee-pain\/hip-pain-treatment-3\/#main\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4220\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4220\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Hip-Pain-Treatment-3-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Hip-Pain-Treatment-3-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Hip-Pain-Treatment-3.jpg 405w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>putting pressure on your bones or is pulling on the tendon (called the IlioTibial Band \u2013 ITB) that is putting pressure onto your lateral knee joint.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can also treat these muscles by using a length of 1\u201d PVC pipe as shown in the picture on the left.<\/p>\n<p>This picture was shared with me by an athlete.
