A plus is the treatment for the muscle that causes shin splints is also one of the main muscles that cause plantar fasciitis.\u00a0 So, you may get some pain relief that you weren\u2019t even expecting.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>What Causes Shin Splints?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/?attachment_id=4594#main\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4594\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Tibialis-Anterior-Muscle-163x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"163\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Tibialis-Anterior-Muscle-163x300.jpg 163w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Tibialis-Anterior-Muscle.jpg 466w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 163px) 100vw, 163px\" \/><\/a>The Tibialis Anterior muscle cause shin splints. The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tibialis_anterior_muscle\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">tibialis anterior muscle<\/span><\/strong><\/a> runs along the outside of your shin bone (the tibia bone), merges into a tendon at your lower leg, crosses over your ankle and then inserts into your arch.\u00a0 When it contracts, it lifts your foot and rolls it toward the outside.\u00a0 Because of these attachments, it is also a key muscle in a sprained ankle and in plantar fasciitis, but these are topics for different newsletters.<\/p>\n<p>The muscle fibers are directly on your shin bone, so when they are tightening due to a repetitive strain, such as running or pressing down on the gas pedal while driving long distances, they start to tear off the bone.\u00a0 You can visualize this by considering how you rip meat off a bone while eating a steak or spareribs.<\/p>\n<p>As the muscle is slowly tearing away from the bone you feel pain along the entire length of the bone, and it really hurts!\u00a0 Fortunately, it\u2019s easy to release the tension in the muscle. Plus, as you\u2019re doing the self-treatment I\u2019m showing you, you are pressing the fibers back on to the bone, so it stops them from ripping away completely.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Relief From Shin Splints<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/?attachment_id=4595#main\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4595\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4595\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Shin-Pain-Treatment-1-300x210.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Shin-Pain-Treatment-1-300x210.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Shin-Pain-Treatment-1.jpg 706w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>You can get immediate relief from shin splint pain by treating your tibialis anterior muscle.<\/p>\n<p>Begin to warm up the muscle by putting your leg straight out and running your opposite heel down the length of the muscle.<\/p>\n<p>Right at the point where the picture is showing the model\u2019s heel on her leg is the point where you\u2019ll find the most sensitive trigger point.<\/p>\n<p>Continue from just below your knee to just above your ankle joint.<\/p>\n<p>Next kneel down as shown in the picture on the right, placing the ball at the top of the muscle and right next to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/?attachment_id=4596#main\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4596\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4596\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Shin-Pain-Treatment-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Shin-Pain-Treatment-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Shin-Pain-Treatment-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Shin-Pain-Treatment-2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>your shin bone.<\/p>\n<p>Notice the way his toes are bent.\u00a0 This will help prevent your arch from feeling like it\u2019s going to cramp as the muscle pulls on the insertion point<\/p>\n<p>Begin to move your leg so the ball is rolling down toward your ankle.\u00a0 Stop when you find a tight point.<\/p>\n<p>When you get to your ankle you can roll back up toward your knee again.\u00a0 Ultimately it won\u2019t hurt, but if it\u2019s especially painful in the beginning just lighten up on the pressure.\u00a0 You may even need to lift your leg off the ball at first which will allow blood to come into the muscle fiber and help lessen the tension.<\/p>\n<p>This technique has helped so many people over the years, I know it will help you too!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>How To Treat Yourself For Pain Relief<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019ve written <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/julstromethod.com\/shop\/\"><strong>several books and programs<\/strong><\/a><\/span> that teach you how to self-treat for pain from your head to your feet.
