text-align: center;\">What Causes SI Joint Pain?<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/si-joint-pain-relief.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1622\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/si-joint-pain-relief-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"si joint pain relief\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/si-joint-pain-relief-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/si-joint-pain-relief-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/si-joint-pain-relief-50x50.jpg 50w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/si-joint-pain-relief-200x200.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.chaneyhealth.com\/healthtips\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/si-joint-pain-relief.jpg 340w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The sacroiliac joint is the point where the sacrum (white area) and the ilium (red area) join together (circled in yellow).<\/p>\n<p>When the muscles that surround the joint are either too tight or too loose, or if you have an accident, the joint can be pulled out of alignment.<\/p>\n<p>This misalignment will cause pain in the immediate area, and also cause symptoms that are similar to low back pain and\/or sciatica.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine\u00a0the overlapping area (circled in yellow)\u00a0moving in a manner that separates the two bones\u2026ouch!\u00a0 You can imagine how this not only strains the sacroiliac joint, but also causes a misalignment\u00a0at the\u00a0hip and pubic joint.<\/p>\n<p>This can cause\u00a0low back pain, SI joint pain, hip pain or groin pain.\u00a0\u00a0The pain\u00a0can also refer down\u00a0the leg\u00a0and even\u00a0into\u00a0the foot.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #3366ff; text-align: center;\">Why Chiropractic Adjustments May Not Hold<\/h3>\n<p>We love chiropractors and the care they provide.\u00a0 Spinal health is essential for longevity and vitality.<\/p>\n<p>Some adjustments may not hold,\u00a0whether it\u2019s an adjustment for\u00a0SI\u00a0joint pain, sciatica, back pain, shoulder pain, or anything else, because the\u00a0muscles that pull the bones out of alignment in the first place aren\u2019t being <em>released<\/em> prior to the adjustment.\u00a0 (When <em>releasing<\/em> a muscle you are releasing tiny muscle fiber knots that cause the muscle to shorten and pull on the bone.)<\/p>\n<p>Think of this analogy,\u00a0imagine you had a length of\u00a0rope with a stick tied in the middle.\u00a0 As you pull\u00a0one side of the\u00a0rope to tug the stick in that direction in order to bring the stick back to the middle you have to first release the tug (tension)\u00a0on the rope.<\/p>\n<p>This is similar to what happens when adjustments are unable to hold.\u00a0 The tight muscle is pulling on the joint, the chiropractor\u00a0pushes (adjusts)\u00a0the joint back into place and\u00a0then the\u00a0tight muscle pulls it right back out again.\u00a0 This can go on and on until the\u00a0muscle knots are released.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"color: #339966;
